This diploma thesis aims at exploring the factors that affect the professional choices of the students of the regional unit of Drama. It tries to approach and explain the factors that influence the formation of students' perceptions. A quantitative survey was carried out, with a sample of all areas of the Drama Regional Unit, with a multiple-choice questionnaire. More detailed by chapter. In the first chapter, there is a historical retrospection of the systems of introduction to higher education in Greece from 1976 to today. I chose to start in 1976 and not earlier because of the greater impact of the European Union's policies on the formation of an educational policy linked to the professional career of trainees in relation to the economic development model that promotes and involves the acquisition of knowledge and skills of its citizens, in order to dominate the global economic competition. In the second chapter, reference is made to School Vocational Guidance. Professional orientation becomes an important tool for rationally choosing academic and professional guidance. Historical data, the effectiveness of the institution in relation to the information needs and substantial support for the choice of the professional orientation of the students The third chapter analyzes the factors, internal and external, which prompt the student to make the decision about his professional future. The fourth chapter discusses and analyzes the role of parents in making their children's decisions. The fifth chapter analyzes and justifies the research methodology I followed and the way the questionnaire was formed. Also, the research questions that ask for an answer are put. The sixth chapter analyzes the results of the research, while the seventh chapter presents the findings of the research and proposes ways to provide students with the most effective support through the knowledge of their potential and the choice of career path to follow. The bibliographic review was based on concepts such as professional choice, decision making, occupational development theories, and factors influencing career choice, education systems, and economic crisis.
