Συνεργασία εκπαιδευτικού και οικογένειας για τη διαχείριση παιδιών με διαταραχές αυτιστικού φάσματος υψηλής λειτουργικότητας στο γυμνάσιο και στο λύκειο (Master thesis)

Autism is a variable disorder of development. People who belong to the autistic spectrum, usually, show abnormalities from the typical development and sometimes have a slow development. They show defects at cognitive, social, emotional, and sensational level (Francis, 2018). In particular, the autism of high Function is a part of the low level spectrum of autism. These children show problems in communication, behavior, in the way of thinking, in various activities and in socialization (Ashley, 2010). However, this essay-paper is very interesting, as it gives useful proposals of how these children can be helped. It is well-known that autism cannot be cured, so children should learn how to live with it. That’s the main reason that they need their families help and additional from their school as an institution and mostly from their teachers. It is crucial though, the collaboration between teachers and families, in order to help profoundly children of highly functional autism. Without their help the children cannot face any difficulties. So, if there is a regular collaboration between the two parts then it is a mutual trust, respect, kindness and honesty. Due to those facts, the behavior of the child is improved; it becomes more social and more efficient at school. Through this essay- paper we are planning to make clear the ideal factors for this improvement. We used quality and quantity tools of measurement to give a global aspect of the issue. As a tool for the quality research, is used the interview and for the quantity one, the structured questionnaire. In total there have been taken six interviews and have been completed 100 questionnaires of teachers, who are teaching at schools of Pella and Thessaloniki. As for the structure of this paper, it is worth mentioning that the first part is the theoretical one which deals with the meaning of the highly functional autism. It is based on the basic model of collaboration that have been taken into consideration, in order to make the best for the children’s benefit. The second part has been more practical and deals with its outcomes.
