This paper focuses on the study and recording the intentions of Greek consumers about the use of PayPal service. PayPal is an online service that allows businesses and individuals with an e-mail account to send and receive payments through the Internet safely, easily and at the lowest possible cost; this service is an electronic alternative to traditional payment methods. The alternative way to pay for online services is directly by credit card online. In our subject we emphasize to the opinion of the consumers regarding their reasons for using or not the service and the frequency of use. In this effort we created a questionnaire relevant to our topic which we handed out on a sample of 180 people, through e-mail and social media, between May and June of 2015. Respondents were asked to answer the questionnaire thus stating their opinion on the topic. Subsequently the results were placed on statistical data analysis program (SPSS). From those data we created frequency tables, intersection tables and crosstabs test in order to validate the independence of the variables. From frequency tables we came up about the characteristics and the composition of the sample. Intersection tables provide an insight about the relation of our variables comparing to the demographic characteristics of the sample. Finally, crosstab tests present the dependence between variables and demographic characteristics. Those tables have been carefully analyzed and we present the most important results that concluded from them. Analyzing those tables we were able to answer the questions that we set up at the beginning of our research. Our results suggest that the main reason that Greek consumers use PayPal is because they are familiar with its use and because online stores provide this payment method. Also, the people who claimed that they do not use the service agreed that the main reason is because they are not familiar with the process of shopping via PayPal. Finally, the majority of Greek consumers stated that they use PayPal less frequently than 1-2 times a month.
