Abstract: OFDM has been proved to be a robust technique when it is used in hostile telecommunications media due to its capability to overcome intersymbol interference (ISI). Such a hostile environment is the powerlines when used for communication purposes in the frequency range 1MHz-30MHz. Nevertheless, it is important to understand the noise characteristics in the frequency domain, since OFDM is the parallel transmission of data using orthogonal carriers.
