Αθανασιάδου, Ελένη

Data protection as well as the safeguarding of their legal processing has gone through many stages of legislative development both nationally and internationally. The General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union 679/2016 / EU, which came into force on 25 May 2018, aims to keep the law in line with technology and to create a single regulatory system within the European Union. Hotel businesses are extensively processing personal data of individuals, which makes them managers of such information. According to the provisions of the new Data Protection Regulation, on the one hand, they face the high fines provided, on the other hand, they risk their reputation and reliability. The aim of this paper is initially to present in a simple and understandable way the provisions of the Regulation, especially those concerning hotel businesses, and then the steps that a company should follow in order to comply with the Regulation and at the same time models of the forms that required by Regulation.
