The purpose of this paper is to identify how STEAM education can contribute to the
development of citizenship and social responsibility among secondary school
students. For this purpose, it is selected to conduct qualitative research on secondary
school teachers, while the research tool to be used is that of a semi-structured
interview. By conducting the aforementioned research, the following research
questions are answered:
1.What is the view of secondary school teachers on whether STEAM education
can create active and responsible citizens?
2.What is the opinion of secondary school teachers regarding the role (social,
economic, political) of STEAM education in the Greek school curriculum?
3.How, in the view of teachers, can STEAM education be linked to the
cultivation of citizenship and social responsibility - participation among
secondary school students?

| Abstract: | Σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας είναι να εντοπίσει τον τρόπο με τον οποίο η
εκπαίδευση STEAM μπορεί να συμβάλλει στην ανάπτυξη της πολιτειότητας και της
κοινωνικής υπευθυνότητας στους μαθητές της δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης. Για το
σκοπό αυτό, επιλέγεται η διεξαγωγή ποιοτικής έρευνας σε εκπαιδευτικούς της
δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης, ενώ το ερευνητικό εργαλείο που θα χρησιμοποιηθεί
είναι
αυτό της ημιδομημένης συνέντευξης. Μέσω της διεξαγωγής της
προαναφερθείσας έρευνας, επιδιώκεται η απάντηση των κάτωθι ερευνητικών
ερωτημάτων:
1. Ποια η άποψη των εκπαιδευτικών της δευτεροβάθμιας σχετικά με το κατά
πόσο η εκπαίδευση STEAM μπορεί να δημιουργήσει ενεργούς και
υπεύθυνους πολίτες;
2. Ποια η άποψη των εκπαιδευτικών της δευτεροβάθμιας σχετικά με τον ρόλο
(κοινωνικό, οικονομικό, πολιτικό) της εκπαίδευσης STEAM στο ελληνικό
σχολικό πρόγραμμα;
3. Πώς μπορεί να συνδεθεί, κατά την άποψη των εκπαιδευτικών, η εκπαίδευση
STEAM με την καλλιέργεια της πολιτειότητας και της κοινωνικής
υπευθυνότητας - συμμετοχικότητας στους μαθητές της δευτεροβάθμιας
