The present text is a well-documented approach about the sacroiliac joints, where the anatomy, the functional anatomy and the biomechanics of the pelvic girdle will be discussed with emphasis on these joints. Emphasis will also be given on the specific characteristics of these joints, on the assessment of their dysfunction and finally on their treatment. The sacroiliac joints are essential structures both for absorbing the applying forces during functional activities and for transferring loads between the lower extremities and the spine. In general, these joints are directly affected by the application of forces on them and by the condition of the muscles, ligaments and fascias of the body. In the present book, will be mentioned issues like the various variants that may arise in different persons, the association of the sacroiliac joints with pregnancy and respiration, as well as the effect of the patient position-posture on them. Moreover, it will become a reference to the differences of the pelvis depending on the sex, to the factors that affect the stability of the sacroiliac joints via form closure and force closure, to their development and also to their innervation. Then, it will be a description and an analysis of all the stages of the physiotherapy assessment and of the techniques that are used for this purpose, but also of the clinical reasoning that will eventually guide the examiner to find the cause of the problem. Furthermore, the importance of the different medical diagnostic examinations in the evaluation of the sacroiliac joints will be discussed, with the topical infusion of anesthetic in the sacroiliac joint under X-Ray guidance, looks to play a major role. After the assessment, it will take place a description of the various therapeutic choices of conservative rehabilitation, which are believed to have a positive effect in the therapy of sacroiliac dysfunction. Also, it will happen a mention in the clinical reasoning that the therapist must follow, in order to apply the right therapeutic techniques depending on the findings of the assessment. In this way, after the end of the reading, the one who was interested about the subject will possess all the efforts needed, in order to face the dysfunction of the sacroiliac joints.
