The present Dissertation deals with the role a Primary School Unit Principal could play, regarding its effective function. Starting this Thesis, takes place a mention to the School Principal duties, to the importance of a leadership profile for an educational organization, as well as to the effectiveness term, namely, what does it really mean and which parameters does it depend on. In the second chapter of the Thesis, the leadership profiles are mentioned, as well as the kind of potential impacts to the effectiveness of an organization being managed by each one of these profiles. There is also a separate mention to the school unit effectiveness, namely, what does it mean for the educational sector and the factors it depends on. Finally, it has been given special emphasis to the school climate factor and the way it affects all those involved in the educational process. At the third chapter of this Thesis, the School Principal role is described, since she/he is the head of the organization. So, at first, the form of a typical School Unit Principal in Greece, is presented, as well as the qualifications needed for the position. There are also presented many other issues like the “construction” of a common plan for the school, the strong personality, the cultivation of a good cooperation climate, the development of relationships with agents being out-of-school and finally, the power sharing, so that the multiple school functions can operate faster. In the final fourth chapter, the research took place, is presented. This is essentially, a kind of case study, during which all the above aspects are examined, from the 1st Panorama Primary School educators’ perspective. Specifically, 30 (from total 39) educators of this unit were asked about the features contribute to the effectiveness improvement of a school unit, as well as which of these features they recognize on their school Principal. Using a semi-improvised questionnaire and Likert scales, answers were collected and then presented using the assistance of the statistical program SPSS, offering extremely interesting results.
