The following paper presents a research conducted within the context of
analysis of feelings of employees, such as commitment and devotion towards the
organization they're working at. The research was focused on the area of education
and was applied on instructors working in Vocational Training Institutes (VTI) in the
private sector. Its aim was to ascertain whether the number of teaching hours assigned
to a certain instructor of a private VTI becomes decisive factor to affect the devotion
and commitment this instructor shows towards the VTI he is working at or not. Given
the fact that the instructor of a private VTI is paid by the teaching hour, the amount of
his salary depends on the number of teaching hours he has fulfilled. Furthermore
instructors with more teaching hours tend to forge stronger bonds and relationships of
cooperation with their chiefs of staff, colleagues and students as well. It was therefore
expected that the research would conclude that instructors with more teaching hours
assigned, would show higher levels of devotion towards the organisation they're
working for.
For the objectives of our research suitable questionnaires were created and
distributed to 213 instructors of both genders, different age groups and educational
backgrounds, working exclusively in private VTIs. A statistical analysis of the results
followed, which showed that our primary allegation (many teaching hours lead to
bigger devotion and commitment against the VTI) is not a valid statement.
According to our research, instructors with a plethora of teaching hours,
though they are interested in finishing their career in the organisation they're working
at, and are not willing to give up on benefits they've obtained there by looking for a
new working position, they show however no statistically important differentiation
concerning the level of devotion towards their educational organisation in comparison
to their colleagues with fewer teaching hours.
