Ο ρόλος του διευθυντή στη διαμόρφωση θετικού σχολικού κλίματος ως παράγοντας ποιότητας της σχολικής αποτελεσματικότητας (Master thesis)

The theoretical approaches and research have resulted in a common understanding that the school climate with its leadership, and in particular the important role of the director - leader, not only depend on each other but they also influence decisively the school results and determine the effectiveness of the school or not. However, the difficulty of implementing and accomplishing these characteristics and in particular from the aspect of the director-leader is a fact. In this research, these two factors, the school climate and leadership, were studied and compared with the notable role of the director with regard to a common goal of school efficiency. More specifically, the first part includes a theoretical approach of the above concepts through the study and presentation of various researches, focusing on where they meet each other. The second researching part deepens into the problem of focusing on the attitudes and views of primary and secondary education teachers in the Prefecture of Thessaloniki regarding the leading profile of the effective director - leader in co-operation and decision-making. Moreover, it focuses on the type of school climate that is favored in the light of the manager's behaviour, the difference between the primary and secondary schools and finally on the evaluation of the director's activity and the need to train him / her. As a result, the director’s leadership has a decisive impact on the school climate while the effectiveness of school is strongly determined by his/her efficiency. Last but not least, it has been observed that the school climate is not considered as an important factor in achieving the school objectives while it has been discerned the necessity for training the directors and evaluating their effectiveness by the educational staff .
