In recent years, Greece has entered a turning point in modern history, as the economic policies of recent decades have led to the verge of bankruptcy. This work focuses on highlighting the importance of an economic activity in Greece, which is an essential tool for exiting the economic crisis. An economic activity which is considered one of the few sectors of the national economy that is competitive globally. This activity is Greek tourism. Specifically, a rather topical issue will be analyzed, which if wisely used can significantly alter the course of Greek tourism. This issue relates to the Russian tourism and impressions of Russian tourists on the Greek tourism product. Russia is the 9th largest economy in the world. Sustained economic growth in Russia together with the growth of outbound tourism can bring satisfactory benefits to the Greek economy, as long as any obstacles preventing the development of tourism in Greece and the possibility of attracting tourists will be removed. One of the obstacles that inactivate the growth of tourism, is the current image of Greece, as in recent years the country's name abroad linked to economic, political and social problems and often is being discredited. The investigation and study of perception and impressions of tourists to the existing tourism product can help to redefine and strengthen the brand of Greece.
