Κατζόγλου, Χαρούλα

Purpose: To make the energy requirements of Badminton known Method: The bachelor’s thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical and the experimental part. In the first part is presented analytically, through peer-reviewed articles in Greek and foreign literature, the nutrition requirements of Badminton athletes in general and in relation to the sport. In the experimental part is presented through graphs and the statistical analysis the responds to the questionnaires, which were distributed to 20 athletes aged 14 to 18 about their nutrition, and the data which were collected. Results: The results showed that the athlete’s nutrition coverw the most of the makronutrients and micronutrients sufficiently. The 70% of the responders support that a sports nutritionist would improve their performance and prevent them from clinical signs. Conclusions: In the research study we conclude that Badminton athletes are well informed about the nutrition they should follow in order to cover their energy costs during both training, and the games, but they need the monitoring by a specialist dietician to cover all their energy requirements.
