Η εικόνα της Θάσου ως τουριστικού προορισμού : μια πρωτογενής διερεύνηση (Bachelor thesis)

The aim of this thesis is to determine the importance of the image of tourist destinations and the name brand practice in tourism development as an innovative practice and specifically to investigate the Municipality of Thasos’s image as a tourist destination. The thesis seeks to identify the criteria for selection of the destination, the impressions and the image these people had about Thassos, both before and after their visit. The thesis is organized into seven chapters. In the first chapter records the general theoretical background and the necessary conditions are clarified. For this is literature review and presented the concepts of image, the brand, the tourist destination and the image of a tourist destination. Firstly the tourist destination Thassos is analyzed. This chapter aims at getting to know the destination and the identification of individual characteristics that make it unique. In the next chapter, the methodology followed in the execution of the research is presented in detail, the methodological approach, the structure and the questionnaire measurements, sampling, data collection and data analysis are presented and analyzed. Follows the analysis and presentation of the research results. The results are organized into sub-sections, which are shown in the sample profile, exploring the differences between Greek and foreign tourists, the image evaluation of Thassos as a tourist destination, the influence of different sources of information, the assessment of adherence to the destination, and finally assessment and intention to visit and recommendation. The thesis ends with the interpretation of the results and proposals for the practical application of the results. Finally, follow the bibliographical sources and research tools of this research in Annexes.
