Στάσεις και απόψεις εκπαιδευτικών δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης για την αξιοποίηση των ΤΠΕ στην εκπαιδευτική διαδικασία: (Master thesis)

The rapid growth of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and their introduction into the everyday life of people, and consequently in the field of education, is an indisputable reality. The teacher plays a key role in conducting teaching and fulfilling its objectives, thus, integrating ICT into teaching practice. It is therefore necessary to study the views of teachers as well as other factors that contribute to the effective use of ICT in the educational process. This diploma thesis explores the attitudes and views of the Teachers of the Secondary Education of Regional Unity of Pieria on the use of ICT in educational practice. Additionally, the use and frequency of ICT are studied, as well as the factors that favor or inhibit their integration into the teaching process. The survey was carried out using the quantitative method and as a data collection tool an anonymous questionnaire, from April to May 2018. The sample consisted of 332 teachers of all specialties and types of service schools. The descriptive and inductive statistical analysis of the data suggests that teachers' attitudes towards the use of ICT in the educational process are generally positive and is considered to be a significant contribution to the teaching process. Teachers have stated that they use ICT and are quite familiar with the use of educational software, although the frequency of use is limited. However, they do not seem to exploit the potential of ICT and do not make sufficient usage of their pedagogical role. Key factors for the integration and exploitation of ICT in the educational process were the modern and adequate infrastructure, technical and administrative support, the curriculum, the number of pupils per department, the training, the knowledge and skills of the teachers, the experience, age and finally years of service
