Διατροφική εκτίμηση και αξιολόγηση καρδιαγγειακών ασθενών (Bachelor thesis)

When patients are hospitalized for heart surgery (bypass or valve) and after the measurements are done, changes in body weight and body composition are observed. Many patients are already undernourished when they are admitted to the hospital, thus burdening the condition after surgery. The objective of this research is the measurement of the patients of the AHEPA Hospital. before and after heart surgery and comparison of their results. The purpose is the assessment and evaluation of the nutritional status and the undernourishment of patients regarding the effect of both intervention and their health problem. The sample of the study was 50 patients aged 51-82 years, of whom 13 were women and 37 were men. The investigation was carried out at the General Hospital of ACHEPA. in Thessaloniki. MUST, NRS-2002 and MNA questionnaires were completed to assess patient hypnosis before surgery. Followed by a series of successive measurements both before and after surgery, such as: weight, height, triceps, hand, waist, hip, and arm measurements. Finally, bioelectric resistance measurement (BIA) was performed to determine differences in fat-light, water and phase angle.
