This diplomatic study examines the contribution of the re-opening of School Libraries,
which did not work in the course of those who exercised power. In particular, the function of
School Libraries in the world, their identity from their birth, their operation policy, the current
situation, their basic functions, as well as an integrated plan for the development of School
Libraries are studied. Reference is made to Information Literacy and their viability to
understand that the relationship between the book and education is self-evident and timeless
as concepts inextricably linked. This relationship is not going to be disturbed. It is
understandable to all of us that the library is not just a bookstore. It is not a pool of
accumulated knowledge. It is a place of learning and entertainment for the student. It is a
learning tool that connects the student, the teacher and the book

| Abstract: | Στην παρούσα διπλωματική μελέτη εξετάζεται η συμβολή της επαναλειτουργίας των
Σχολικών Βιβλιοθηκών, οι οποίες δεν λειτούργησαν στην πορεία από αυτούς που άσκησαν
εξουσία. Συγκεκριμένα, μελετάται η λειτουργία των Σχολικών Βιβλιοθηκών στον κόσμο, η
ταυτότητα τους από τη γέννηση τους, η πολιτική λειτουργίας τους, η σημερινή κατάσταση, οι
βασικές λειτουργίες τους, καθώς και ένα ολοκληρωμένο σχέδιο ανάπτυξης των Σχολικών
Βιβλιοθηκών. Γίνεται αναφορά στην Πληροφοριακή Παιδεία (Information Literacy) και την
βιωσιμότητα τους ώστε να κατανοηθεί ότι η σχέση του βιβλίου με την παιδεία είναι
αυτονόητη και διαχρονική ως έννοιες άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένες. Αυτή η σχέση δεν πρόκειται να
διαταραχθεί. Είναι κατανοητό από όλους μας ότι η βιβλιοθήκη δεν είναι μόνο ένας χώρος
αποθήκευσης βιβλίων. Δεν είναι ταμιευτήριο συσσωρευμένης γνώσης. Είναι χώρος μάθησης
και ψυχαγωγίας για το μαθητή. Είναι εργαλείο μάθησης που συνδέει το μαθητή, τον
