Η δομή της Εκπαίδευσης μετά την ψηφιακή επανάσταση και οι προκλήσεις του μέλλοντος, στάσεις και αντιλήψεις των εκπαιδευτικών (Master thesis)

The digital revolution has changed the educational system that needs to correspond to the needs of the globalized society of information. The objective of education is no longer just the transmission of knowledge that is impossible to conquer, but the development of skills for its management and implementation, whenever and wherever necessary. To that direction the role of the modern teacher is also changing as he/she is called upon to guide his/her students into new ways of discovering knowledge and to correspond to this new pedagogical and social role preparing future citizens. This requires familiarity with the use of new technologies that is considered a prerequisite regarding education as well. The main objective of the current research is to note down the views and beliefs of Greek teachers that work in primary and secondary education regarding the changes that the digital revolution has brought about to education and how ready they feel to respond and adjust to the future challenges. Through a primary quantitative research were sought the teachers’ attitudes towards Information and Communication Technologies and also the degree of their familiarity with the digital educational technologies, their views about the future of education and their training and support needs on new technologies. The results of the research made evident that the teachers have positive views about new technologies, they are familiar with and use them well enough and they integrate them in many different ways into their teaching. They also believe that modern technologies help students to develop skills to meet the requirements of the digital era and allow schools and teachers to communicate better within the educational community. However they believe that they need support and training in order to use them even more
