Discrimination in the workplace includes any kind of "differentiation, exclusion or preference, which has the effect of nullifying or harming the equality of opportunity or treatment of individuals in the working environment. Discrimination occurs when an individual is treated less favorably than other individuals because of characteristics unrelated to the individual's abilities or the inherent requirements of the job. Businesses should respect the principle of non-discrimination throughout the performance of their activities. Businesses should take into account the qualifications, skills and experiences of individuals where all these elements will act as a basis for the recruitment, placement, training and development of their human resources at all levels as well as encourage and support all interested parties to do the same. When discrimination takes place in the airport space, it hurts all parties involved in this process. Discrimination reduces airline manpower and creates a hostile work environment for both employers and employees. However, if there is discrimination in the workplace, it is very likely that there is also discrimination among airline passengers. Discrimination in the field of airports and beyond is a situation that many HR professionals condemn and do not want this whole situation to continue. Experts in the field of human resources make intensive efforts to reduce all kinds of discrimination that exist in the workplace. Finally, experts have focused on addressing this problem in various work environments, but some industries, such as airlines, need to be given more attention. The topic of this specific paper concerns the corporate social responsibility of businesses and specifically mentions the discrimination of employees in the area of airports.
