Συσχέτιση βάθους έμπηξης αυτοφερόμενου διαφράγματος με τις παραμέτρους διατμητικής αντοχής του εδάφους (Master thesis)

The object of this bachelor's thesis is the study of the sheet pile walls and their direct relation to the infrastructure works. Its purpose is to find mathematical tools that will facilitate civil engineers in the proper study and construction of a sheet pile wall. The sheet pile walls in their standard form are thin structures designed to support high excavations. The usual materials used for their construction are metal piles, reinforced concrete of low or high rigidity, wood or synthetic materials. The balance of the sheet pile wall-supported ground system is ensured by the depth of embedment of the sheet pile wall in combination usually with an anchorage system. Finding the right embedment depth of the sheet pile wall is a key point in its proper construction. In the present work are given mathematical models and diagrams for the direct calculation of the embedment depth depending on the soil’s shear strength parameters
