Σκλέπος, Αναστάσιος

Τhe aim of this thesis is to examine the effective motivation of the security forces through the demonstration of successful leadership behavior. The study examines whether there is a statistically significant relationship between leadership and motivation and in what ways leadership makes it possible to motivate employees in the security forces. After recording the types of motivation and leadership applied and the characteristics of the leaders that can lead to the motivation of the employees in the security forces, an empirical research is carried out with the use of a questionnaire. The methodology followed in the thesis is initially the secondary research with analysis of modern and older literature through the study of theories of motivation and leadership and the primary quantitative research on a sample of 150 employees in the security forces. The statistical analysis of the data was performed with the use of Microsoft Excel and the statistical tool SPSS. The results of the research show that there is a statistically significant relationship between leadership and the scale of specialization or excellence and concern from the aspects of motivation. Excellence can motivate employees in the security forces and leaders can focus on on-the-job training, mentoring and education of the human resources to motivate employees in achieving greater effort and performance.
