Ετοιμότητα εκπαιδευτικών Δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης Νομού ΠΡΕΒΕΖΗΣ για την εξ΄ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευση κατά την πανδημία COVID-19 (Master thesis)

Most educational institutions around the world suspended formal, lifelong teaching and moved to distance learning and teaching in March 2020 in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19. Although the adoption of distance education is the key to ensuring the continuation of education after the physical closure of schools, teachers did not seem to be fully trained for this. The purpose of this study was to investigate the views of Secondary Education teachers in the prefecture of Preveza on distance education during the pandemic, but also to evaluate, through their own eyes, their self-efficacy, attitudes towards ICT, perceived behavioural control and subjective rules. The sample of the research consisted of 108 secondary education teachers in the prefecture of Preveza, who completed a questionnaire through Google forms. Regarding the self-efficacy of secondary school teachers for distance learning, it also seemed that there is a high level of readiness of teachers in the prefecture of Preveza, while the attitudes of the participants towards distance education are positive. Where there appeared to be lower rates was in the perceived behavioural control of secondary school teachers towards distance learning, while the dimension of the subjective rules of secondary education teachers towards distance learning had particularly low rates. In terms of whether demographic characteristics affect the technological competence, attitude, perceptual control and subjective rules of secondary school teachers towards distance learning, it appeared that there is a significant correlation in most cases, which is consistent with previous studies.
