Λογοτέχνες της Θεσσαλονίκης: Επισκόπηση και διαδικτυακή παρουσίαση των σημαντικότερων εκπροσώπων και των έργων τους (Bachelor thesis)

The present bachelor’s thesis deals with the study of the intellectual life in Thessaloniki. Over the years, the city has faced various difficulties which resulted in a change of its identity and a turn of its people to different kinds of "search". Literature, as a driving force of spirituality, has evolved historically, creating a climate of change in poetry and prose. These changes actually began in 1910 when the first steps in literature were taken. Since then, literature has been constantly transforming. The intellectuals who expressed themselves through poetry and prose, contributed with their important work and expressed themselves according to their experiences, perceptions and ideas, evolving in their own way the spirituality of the city. In this bachelor’s thesis, the literary representatives are categorized according to their period and mode of action. Some of them, based on personal analyzed in this paper, stood out for the great and remarkable legacy they left behind. A historical, spiritual, social and, at the same time, cultural heritage that shaped the literary value of the city and highlighted its wealth. The criteria for the selection of the most important writers arose from a study on them and mainly concern their contribution. Based on the above, it appears that Thessaloniki is a city with a remarkable past in terms of its literary quality which needs to be studied by all of us.
