Reinforced concrete constructions, have penetrated dynamically over the years in the construction of buildings, conquering markets across the entire spectrum of constructions. One of the most frightening and destructive phenomena of a nature is a severe earthquake and it’s terrible after effects. If an earthquake occurs in a populated area, it may cause many injuries and extensive property damage. In Greece, where earthquake is a common phenomenon, the need to build buildings that will not only provide functionality but provide safety and resilience to the impacts of the earthquake as well, is considered imperative. Although there are no guarantees, of safety during an earthquake, identifying potential hazards a head of time and advance planning to save lives and significantly reduce injuries and property damage, is also considered imperative. It is highly impossible to prevent an earthquake from occurring, but the damage to the buildings can be controlled through proper design and detailing. In the present thesis, entitled ‘Study of a reinforced concrete building for different seismic zones and influence on the cost of the carrier’, it estimates whether it is affected the cost of constructing in three seismic hazard zones. Through the completion of this thesis, the engineer and non-reader will be able to get in touch and become familiar with the subject at theoretical level.
