This dissertation intends to study one of the information technologies - and the oldest - the Electronic Reservation Systems. As mentioned above, Electronic Reservation Systems were developed and implemented for the first time in the United States by airlines and specifically by American airlines. Since then, all air carriers have adopted these information systems and are constantly enriching them to offer the greatest service and satisfaction to their passengers. The ultimate goal of the work in the first phase is to present the effects of Electronic Reservation Systems in the tourism industry and in the second phase to present one of their applications, the electronic ticket. Briefly, I quote the structure of the work. The first chapter presents how tourism enters the era of e-business (e-business) and what do we mean when we talk about e-tourism (e-tourism). The second chapter presents the situation of the aviation industry. The reasons why air transport was chosen are obvious. First, the airplane is the main means of transportation used by travelers worldwide to get to a destination and second is the industry that was the first to implement Electronic Reservation Systems. The third chapter analyzes in detail the Electronic Reservation Systems (CRS). The fourth chapter concerns and analyzes the electronic tickets, which although well known and widespread abroad and mainly in the United States, in Greece is a new technology that has appeared in the last year. Finally, the fifth chapter presents the results of a research conducted in the context of this dissertation.
