Μέθοδοι νομιμοποίησης εσόδων από παράνομες δραστηριότητες. (Bachelor thesis)
The present paper analyses the legalization and disguise of funds due to illegal activities on both a worldwide and national level. The core intention of this research is to reveal the assailable aspects of a society’s economy in relation to money laundering. Under this light, the author cites and analyses the means through which the conversion or transfer of illegally obtained property and funds is achieved by presenting actual cases that were revealed and became the domestic public’s ongoing focus of attention. A critical point for the readers’ understanding of the phenomenon is the clarification of complex money laundering schemes, that is the drilling that money laundering as a procedure follows and why these schemes are later on categorized as models in terms of a theoretical approach. Finally, the last and most important chapter is focused on ways of addressing the problem via the thorough analysis of anti – money laundering developments and methods that can be employed by national governments and authorities. In conclusion, the aim of this research will be to exploit a critical approach as to the methods used by countries around the world to work hand-in-hand to combat money laundering defraying thus the loopholes that still exist in the national legal systems.
