Bone marrow transplantation is a therapeutic approach
for the treatment of malignant and non-hematological disorders. It is
distinguished in autologous and allogeneic, guided by the donor of the
implant. Also, before its application it requires the proper preparation of the patient with the application of the preparatory treatment, which
consists of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy. However, it carries many risks and limitations, most notably graft rejection or graft- versus-host disease.
