Η "υποτίμηση" και "απαξίωση" των εκπαιδευτικών από τον διευθυντή του σχολείου και η απόδοσή του στον προγραμματισμό και τη διοίκηση της σχολικής μονάδας, στην πρωτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση του Νομού Πέλλας (Master thesis)

This paper deals with the role of the Director of Primary School Education in managing the school unit. His/ Her role can be important as it is significant and multidimensional but in many cases it is not the expected that is it may be problematic. The term attributed to problematic behavior in international bibliographies is Toxic Behavior. The objective of our paper is to check to what extent the Director’s toxic behavior affects some specific actions which have to do with; financial management, the priorities and distribution of tasks between his subordinates and action planning. Toxic behavior is defined as the derogatory behavior concerning the superior to his subordinates, the depreciation of their professional capacities, his indifference towards the problems they face at work and submitting opinions during the conflicts of his subordinates. This was examined by a questionnaire which was distributed to primary school teachers in Pella. One hundred and sixty four teachers took part in the research and the results were analyzed with the help of the statistical package SPSS in particular, they were subjected to multivariate analysis (MANOVA) in which the influence of the independent variables was examined but also their influence on the dependent variables. The results showed that some forms of toxic behavior of the Director of the school unit differentiate the effect on his/her relations with his/her subordinates, thus affecting the management of the school unit differently, though some others did not reveal any statistically significant effect.
