The administration and management of the public sector in recent years places particular emphasis on its efficient operation and on improving the quality of services provided. The education sector cannot be absent from this change that seems to have taken place in the public sector. More specifically, after the continuous reforms that exist in this sector, it has finally been led to assimilate in its operation all the services of e-government but also a degree of autonomy. In the case of e-government, there are several applications that respond to the field of education, while in the area of autonomy, continuous efforts are made to establish it. With e-government, those involved in education can increase their level of participation and get their work done faster and more reliably. At the same time, e-government is a form of citizen oversight of the state and in this case in the field of education, thus ensuring the transparency of its operation and the fight against corruption. On the other hand, autonomy in education is able to lead to improved efficiency of all educational units, to the promotion of knowledge and to the freedom of action of teachers in the teaching work. However, this does not mean that there will be no respect for the current legislation or that some basic principles of operation of the education system will not be observed. In the context of this study, the examination of e-government and autonomy in education is attempted from the perspective of Primary Education teachers. This is why a quantitative, primary research was conducted by distributing a structured research tool electronically to teachers serving at this level of education. The results of the research showed that the autonomy in education as well as the use of e-government services is at a moderate stage in Greece with the participants maintaining a neutral attitude, which in some cases tended towards a positive attitude.
