Οι αεροπορικές εταιρείες χαμηλού κόστους στην παγκόσμια αγορά, η περίπτωση της Ευρώπης (Bachelor thesis)

Γεωργάκης, Άγγελος

Low cost airlines are a new and effective way of flying which makes more and more people willing to travel in that way. The main goal of this project is the presentation of the aforementioned airlines in Europe. First and foremost, the meaning of the definition “Low cost” is analyzed and how these airlines differ from the other ones. It is also pointed out the types of routes the low cost airlines operate and the passengers’ behavior towards them, let alone other factors that may affect people on choosing which way they prefer to travel. What is more, the current global market is mentioned referring to the passengers’ preferences and what the future demands might be. Last but not least, conclusions were drawn and many suggestions came up. Such a conclusion is the positive effect of the low cost airlines’ presence in the industry, not only for passengers with less demand for luxury and main operating airports but also for the local communities that are supported and take advantage of the increased tourism due to flights nearby. In addition, because of the use and operation of new aircrafts with high technology and more environmentally friendly the pollution is decreased with less emissions and the safety of the flight is noticeable.
