Air Cargo – Μεταφορές Εμπορευμάτων (Bachelor thesis)

In the present dissertation, an attempt is made to present in detail the system of air transport goods worldwide and especially for Greece. The purpose is to record the basic concepts and characteristics of air carries for a better understanding of the whole spectrum of organization of the individual elements of air cargo transport processes, and other perspectives that open up for the future of air cargo. Speccifically, this work is divided into 4 chapters. The first chapter deals with the generation and evolution of air transport. Additionally, in the same chapter it was considered necessary to present elements of the pandemic of COVID-19, which inflicted a huge blow on air carries. The second chapter presents the different modes of transport and analyzes comprehensively the advantages and disadvantages of each means. Then the third chapter is related to the bodies that control the airlines both in Europe and Greece. As far as the fourth chapter is concerned it describes the procedures applied to the ground aircraft service and the cargo handling and includes a reference to carries, whose actions and role are analyzed in the specific market standardization of the categories of contrainers used in air cargo. The goal of this chapter is to assimilate the structure of the air cargo. The last part of the dissertation examines the possibilities for the future and the problems that the space of air cargo will have to face.
