Φυσικοθεραπευτική προσέγγιση στη πελματιαία απονευρωσίτιδα (Bachelor thesis)

Καλαϊτζίδου, Παρθένα

Plantar fasciitis is a very common disease of the lower limb, which affects a large part of the population. It is a multifactorial disease, which occurs in athletes but also in people who do not engage in sports. The factors contributing to its development are endogenous (biomechanical abnormalities, increased body mass index, shortening and weakness of anatomical structures of the lower limb) and exogenous (inadequate footwear, activities and work, sex, age) as well as systemic acquired diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, heel sprain etc) that usually coexist with the condition itself, bilaterally at the lower limbs. Plantar fasciitis exhibits specific symptoms, such as morning pain, end-of-day pain, pain after excessive standing, lower limb stiffness, and swollen gait. Appropriate medical advice and physiotherapeutic assessment are those that lead to a complete understanding of the existence of plantar fasciitis. For its effective treatment, physiotherapy has given its valuable help through numerous preservatives (ultrasound, laser, transcutaneous massage, myopathetic release, ESWT, acupuncture, ligament, orthotics, stretching exercises and exercises).
