Τα χαρακτηριστικά του ηγέτη στο φιλανδικό εκπαιδευτικό σύστημα (Master thesis)

Σφέτσα, Ελισσάβετ

In the present study and on the occasion of the Finnish educational system, were investigated the views of executives, directors and deputy directors, of public and private Preschool Education, Primary and Secondary Education regarding the characteristics and the kind of leader that requires an open, educational system. The ultimate goal of the survey was to examine whether decentralized and systemic school leadership can be implemented in Greece under the Finnish model. A qualitative research was carried out and a semi-structured interview was used as a data collection tool. From the horizontal recording and processing of the data, it was concluded that the implementation of decentralized and systemic administration in Greek schools would not be unhindered due to the lack of a culture of cooperation. However, all executives agreed that a school unit needs flexibility and autonomy in its management. They are cautious about making evaluation of themselves to external Authorities like Municipalities but more enthusiastic when they are going to delegate authority and responsibilities to their trusted colleagues. The limiting factors that make it difficult to implement decentralization and systemic leadership are ultimately addressed but a wider educational reform is needed.
