The tourism industry is a service sector that is heavily dependent on its employees, as human resources seem to be the most important factor in the overall tourist experience. The development and strengthening of the human resources in tourism is based both on a country's education system and on continuing vocational training and education. Modern tourism education programs aim at developing the employee’s skills that are needed in order to adapt to an increasingly demanding environment.
This thesis studies and evaluates the education and the vocational training in the tourism sector in Greece.
