The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the impact of Education on the Competitiveness of the economy. This study is based on a comparative study of their measurement indicators, based on data from the World Economic Forum.
Competitiveness is a multidimensional term related to economic prosperity and growth. It aims to develop and improve life, which is achieved by increasing their income.
Education is the system of knowledge transfer whose operation is based on an input - processing - output process. In this process, individuals enter the education system and through education they leave the society almost integrated and ready for society.
The content of the bibliographic review is related to Education and Competitiveness. For Education, the topics of the Educational Project are presented in detail, Educational Evaluation, Quality of Education, School Effectiveness and Evaluation Indicators. For Competitiveness, its indicators and measurement are presented in detail by the World Economic Forum and the Institute for Management Development.
In this thesis, the relationship between Competitiveness and Education is examined and analyzed if and to what extent Competitiveness is affected by the function and manner of education. The data from the annual reports on the competitiveness indicators of the European countries are being researched for this correlation. Data correlation analysis was performed using Pearson coefficient and SPSS software.

| Abstract: | Σκοπός της παρούσας διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι η διερεύνηση της επίδρασης της Εκπαίδευσης στην Ανταγωνιστικότητα της οικονομίας. Η διερεύνηση αυτή βασίζεται σε μία συγκριτική μελέτη των δεικτών μέτρησής τους, με βάση τα στοιχεία του World Economic Forum.
Η ανταγωνιστικότητα είναι ένας πολυδιάστατος όρος που σχετίζεται με την οικονομική ευημερία και ανάπτυξη. Έχει ως στόχο την ανάπτυξη και βελτίωση της ζωής, η οποία επιτυγχάνεται με την αύξηση τους εισοδήματος.
Η εκπαίδευση αποτελεί το σύστημα μετάδοσης γνώσεων, η λειτουργία του οποίου βασίζεται σε μια διαδικασία εισροών – επεξεργασίας – εκροών. Κατά την διαδικασία αυτή τα άτομα εισέρχονται στον εκπαιδευτικό σύστημα και μέσω της εκπαίδευσης εξέρχονται από αυτό σχεδόν ολοκληρωμένοι και έτοιμοι για την κοινωνία.
Το περιεχόμενο της βιβλιογραφικής ανασκόπησης σχετίζεται με την Εκπαίδευση και την Ανταγωνιστικότητα. Για την Εκπαίδευση παρουσιάζονται αναλυτικά τα θέματα του Εκπαιδευτικού έργου, η Εκπαιδευτική αξιολόγηση, η Ποιότητα της Εκπαίδευσης, η Σχολική αποτελεσματικότητα και οι δείκτες αξιολόγησης ενώ γίνεται και αναφορά στην Ελληνική Εκπαίδευση και στην αξιολόγηση του εφαρμόζεται. Για την Ανταγωνιστικότητα παρουσιάζονται αναλυτικά οι δείκτες της και η μέτρησή της σύμφωνα με το World Economic Forum και το Institute for Management Development.
Στην παρούσα εργασία πραγματοποιείται σύνδεση της σχέσης Ανταγωνιστικότητας και Εκπαίδευση και αναλύεται εάν και κατά πόσο επηρεάζεται η Ανταγωνιστικότητα από την λειτουργία και τον τρόπο διεξαγωγής της Εκπαίδευσης. Με την βοήθεια των στοιχείων από τις ετήσιες εκθέσεις για τους δείκτες ανταγωνιστικότητας των Ευρωπαϊκών Χωρών πραγματοποιείται η έρευνα για τον συσχετισμό αυτό. Η ανάλυση συσχέτισης των δεδομένων πραγματοποιείται με βάση τον συντελεστή Pearson και με την χρήση του προγράμματος SPSS.
