The issue of effective leadership in education is an important one a challenge for every workplace, especially today where economic and social crisis hit the sphere of employment. Despite the different considerations for what are the characteristics that make up the leadership behavior, are that the debate remains open and timely. Undoubtedly, such as capturing a vision, spreading it, creating innovative goals, mobilizing of team members to achieve these goals, the ability of some to them willingly and willingly follow their partners, are key elements of it leading behavior, which is beneficial and effective to everyone workplace. Equally important issue in the field of effective leadership is the development and cultivation of emotional intelligence with the aim of empathy and satisfaction of employees' needs as well as issues such as conflict management, communication, decision-making. The purpose of this paper is to examine and analyze the aspects of a very important issue for secondary education in Greece, Qualitative upgrading of education in relation to the different types of leadership as well as the quality assurance in this area and the direction to be achieved in order to achieve more efficient and effective education.
