Η επίδραση δραστικών βιομορίων σε μοσχεύματα φράουλας υπό συνθήκες τοξικότητας βορίου (Master thesis)

The purpose of the present asignment is to study the effect of microbiological organic nutrient enriched indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) on strawberry plants that have been exposed to different concentrations of boron. In particular, experiments were conducted to determine whether or not strawberry plants show resistance to different concentrations of boric acid if IAA is injected. The parameters (height, chlorophyll concentration, proline concentration, chlorophyll fluorescence) were studied to determine the resistance of the plants. Strawberry plants were planted in pots at Ano Agios Ioannis Pierias on April 2, 2018 and transplanted into larger pots for better plant growth on 10-6-2018. The experimental interventions started on 9-5- 2018 and lasted for 2 months (62 days). The total duration of the experiment along with the experimental procedures, plant material collection and extraction of results was approximately six months. It was found that under conditions of moderate boric acid toxicity, the administered indole-3-acetic acid cleared its symptoms and allowed the plants to exhibit some resistance. In particular at concentrations of 7.5 µM and 10 µM HBO3, the addition of different concentrations of the formulation was beneficial, as it caused a decrease in the concentration of amino acid proline compared to the controls. In addition, the addition of different concentrations of IAA was found to have beneficial effects on HBO3-treated plants as we had a smaller decrease in their height, indicating a stress relief. at concentrations of 5 µM, 7.5 µM and 10 µM. Last but not least, it is known that the chlorophyll value decreases with heavy metals (boron), this decrease being smaller when sprayed with nutrient solution (IAA) which up to a certain concentration (<10 µM) the concentration of total chlorophyll in treatments (2.5,5,7.5) is greater than the control.
