Introduction: Today's consumers increasingly want to make food labeling clearer and understandable so that they can make informed choices about the foods they consume. In addition, more and more people are suffering from allergies. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to extend the extent to which consumers are interested in nutrition labels and whether they read them properly and do not misinterpret them relative to their educational level. This research focuses on women and men aged 18 and over. Methodology: The research was carried out through a questionnaire distributed to 1200 people across Greece over 18 years of age. The questionnaire had mainly closed-ended questions. Statistical analysis was performed using the IMB SPSS Statistics 25 statistical package. Results: 8 out of 10 dietary checks we performed were statistically significant. Younger people were more interested in being informed about nutritional information than older people. However, while young people were interested in being informed about nutritional information, they did not use it in some way. In addition, the younger group appeared to understand diet labels more easily than older people. Conclusions: The younger generation has more impetus as it is frequently updated through technology and may therefore be more interested in nutritional information. In addition, since nutrition labels are more up-to-date and therefore easier to understand for younger people than those aged 60 and over.
