Η συναισθηματική νοημοσύνη της ηγεσίας στην επικοινωνία με τους εκπαιδευτικούς στη δευτεροβάθμια εκπαίδευση Δυτικής Θεσσαλονίκης (Master thesis)
The concept of Emotional Quotient (Emotional Intelligence) has occupied scientists since the past century, as research has shown that it is related to features that play a key role in the success of the individual in both his personal and professional lives. Recently, however, it has also attracted the interest of educational research, since its effects on teachers 'work efficiency and students' academic achievement and success have been investigated. Therefore, teacher training should also include emotional skills in the educational process. At the same time, it is interesting to look for the interaction of emotional intelligence in the practice of school leadership and especially its role in effective communication between the director of the school units and the teaching staff. This diploma thesis aims at approaching the emotional intelligence of the directors of the school units of the Public Secondary Education of Western Thessaloniki, firstly, in a theoretical level, by reviewing the relevant bibliography and secondly, by research, by conducting qualitative research. Additionally, it aims at demonstrating the role of Emotional Intelligence and its effects on the communication of the Director and the teaching staff. The qualitative research that was conducted recorded the opinion of twenty-five (25) school leaders of Secondary Education in Western Thessaloniki through a personal semi-structured interview. The results of the survey showed that managers recognize the importance and effectiveness of emotional intelligence and its impact on their communication with the teachers' staff. Finally, further research is being proposed to broaden the findings and record any deficiencies. These will be the occasion for organizing relevant training programs in the field of education.
