Η χρήση των Μέσων Κοινωνικής Δικτύωσης (social media) για την επικοινωνία της πόλης της Θεσσαλονίκης με τους κατοίκους και τους επισκέπτες της (Master thesis)

The aim of this diploma thesis is to search for and record existing information about the use of social media by tourist destinations as a marketing tool to get in touch with visitors and residents of a city. This research, through combined bibliography and empirical research, aims to examine the ability of social media to provide useful information to visitors about the activities and sights of a destination. This work firstly introduces the basic concepts of Social Media, so that the reader can be introduced smoothly to the subject of this work. At the first level, analyzed the social media, the most important and most useful of them are presented, as well as the use of each. Immediately afterwards, the destination marketing function will be analyzed. It will consider marketing for the tourism industry and specifically a tourist destination and with which tools this can be applied. Subsequently, will be analyzed the destination marketing. In the second part of this diploma thesis, a facebook survey was conducted by the Tourism Promotion Agency of Thessaloniki in order to identify the way the site comes into contact with its visitors and what information it provides for the city. The results and conclusions of the dissertation resulting from the collection of primary data are reported. The collection was made by posting the publications of the page within 4 months. Finally, the conclusions are analyzed based on the conducted research.
