Στάσεις και απόψεις των εκπαιδευτικών της δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης Δυτικής Θεσσαλονίκης για το φαινόμενο της ενδοσχολικής βίας και εκφοβισμού (Master thesis)

Not being a recent phenomenon, bulling at schools began growing vastly worldwide, especially throughout the last decades. The form, bulling incidents may appear in, can vary from direct or indirect to physical or verbal violence. The particular survey being accomplished among High School teachers of Western Thessaloniki focuses on figuring out their opinion as far as the education on school bullying prevention and confrontation is concerned as well as on the imprint of the phenomenon and the potential practices on its prevention and confrontation. The results of the processing and evaluation of the collected data focus on certain conclusions. They underline both the major role of the vehicles of raising awareness being schools, the state and NGOs on the confrontation of the phenomenon according to teachers’ perspectives and the need for effective educational practices. Furthermore, the imprint of the school bullying phenomenon based on teachers’ aspects follows. Last but not least, their opinions on educational practices on school unit level alongside with preventive measures on behalf of the state aiming to contribute to school bullying prevention are recorded. On the whole, the profile and the role of the instructor- teacher regarding this phenomenon, which is one of the most prominent problems of contemporary Greek society is highlighted. The results of this survey can be used for strategic planning and application of preventive projects- programmes on school bullying in the long run.
