This postgraduate assignment aimed at studied through to bibliographical review and research the connection between tourism and culture with new methods of showing destinations such as cultural routes. The first chapter defines concepts, such as cultural heritage, culture, tourism, thematic tourism and cultural tourism through bibliographical review. To continue with second chapter, defining the concept of cultural routes and the contribution for an area or a bigger destination, as they were expressed on international scientific standards. Then, welcoming advance of possible cultural routes is going to get highlighted, focusing on the municipality of Dion Olympus, based on qualitative research. Also, based on quantitative research analyzing the perception of the residents and visitors of the area of Dion Olympus for thematic tourism, such a cultural tourism. Moreover analyzed the interest of the visitors about their participation in cultural routes. Undoubtedly, this research has shown up the possibility of developing and promoting the cultural routes, by highlighting the cultural and natural heritage as core development point of view cultural tourism, side by side with a great interest for everyone to be a unique part of them.
