This work has explored the phenomenon of professional exhaustion in the field of education. Initially, the concepts of work-related anxiety and burnout are defined , and then the causes of these phenomena and the consequences they cause. The research focused specifically on the profession of teacher, the extent to which this phenomenon has taken place in the particular profession in Greek schools, especially in recent years, has been investigated and its consequences have been highlighted. At the same time, there was a reference to the phenomenon of labor exhaustion of teachers from other countries. The role of the school climate and school leadership in the emergence and treatment of this complex problem was also assessed. Finally, there are mentioned ways of preventing and addressing the exhaustion of teachers as they arise from the study of the relevant literature.
