Οι αντιλήψεις των εκπαιδευτικών Δευτεροβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης για τη θέση του Υποδιευθυντή στις σχολικές μονάδες (Master thesis)

The aim of this research is to investigate the perceptions of the teachers of secondary education, regarding the role of the deputy director and his function in the school unit. The institution of school sub-administration remains unclear until today. The method followed was the qualitative approach and the means of interview was chosen as the most appropriate data collection for research. The survey, involved eight teachers from schools in the Department of Secondary Education in Western Thessaloniki. The data collection, was carried out using the snowball sampling method while the analysis of the method that was followed was the thematic. The findings of the research show that its role is crucial in the functioning of the school. The Deputy Director has a dual role, he works supportive with the Director, but he must also respond to the increased demands of both the administration and his / her teaching at school. The participant’s statements were found that the deputy directors, don’t have the necessary knowledge of administration and they haven’t properly trained to have an effective and good functioning at school. As a matter of urgency, the State recognizes the contribution of this institution to the functioning of the school and redefines the duties and responsibilities of the deputy director for the optimal efficiency of the institution. Moreover, the role of teachers is considered as a catalyst and is recognized as important by all the teachers of each school who consider him, as a supporter of both their problems and the main factor of shaping and strengthening a positive school climate.
