The aim of this paper is to analyze and optimize the use of Spa services in hospitality units. Wellness Tourism has shown tremendous growth in recent years, and growth is expected to continue. The need for people to improve their quality of life through Wellness has created a trend in the tourism sector, where travelers are increasingly seeking to satisfy wellness needs during their holidays. The purpose of this paper is to examine the need to integrate Spa centers within hospitality units, in order to provide a satisfactory response to the above trend. In this diploma thesis (i) has been examined, the importance of integrating Spa facilities into hotel units, (ii) have been analyzed, the benefits of such a choice, (iii) have been mentioned, the parameters to be taken into account to offer qualitative, competitive and sustainable economic services . The research was based on bibliographic references, as well as on raw material (questionnaires responded by visitors to hotels) about the role that a Spa can play in improving the quality of life. The main findings of the survey are that the use of Spa facilities can help a lot in people’s wellbeing and experience creation, and the questionnaires have made it clear that guests now consider Spa areas as indispensable and integral parts of hotel units. The main parameters that need to be considered in the process of creating a wellness area within a hospitality unit are the proper and functional architecture of the area, as well as the proper staffing with specialized personnel.
