Η Τουριστική Εικόνα της πόλης Łódź (Bachelor thesis)

Χαραλαμπίδης, Ιωάννης

The aim of this paper is to study the image of the Polish city Łódź, as a tourist destination, a city with a rich history and major tourist attractions. The city is the third largest city in Poland. Before the Second World War, Łódź was an industrial power with great potential. In December 1914, it was occupied by the Germans. Soon the Łódź Ghetto was created, which gathered more than 200,000 Jewish residents. Thus, an important part of the tourist image is now the once thriving industrial activity, which has given the similar nature of the city and the monuments and museums honoring the memory of Polish Jews exterminated during the war by the Germans Nazi. The city today combines the modern aspect of a European city with multiple leisure options for tourists, with its rich history and the associated historic attractions. Well connected with other Polish cities and European capitals, Łódź is easily accessible for tourists offering at the same time a wide variety of options for accommodation.
