Tourism is distinguished primarily in mass and alternative. Mass tourism is the tourist who chooses to make formal holiday enjoying the comforts of accommodation (hotels, apartments, etc.). Unlike alternative tourism appeals to tourists looking for a different kind of holiday close to nature. A subcategory of alternative tourism are rural tourism. This paper will analyze the agrotourism as an alternative type of tourism development and the impact of this on the economy and entrepreneurship. This paper as a case study of rural tourism existing in the vicinity of St. Athanasius of Mount Kaimaktsalan. The survey was conducted in the form of personal interviews using a questionnaire and the main conclusion of this is that rural tourism developed in the region is a major incentive for maintaining population.
