Βιολογικά τρόφιμα: Μελέτη σχετικά με τους παράγοντες που επηρεάζουν τις προθέσεις αγοράς και κατανάλωσης (Bachelor thesis)

This research was conducted in the thesis preparation under the Nutrition and Dietetics department of Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki. The aim was to study the characteristics of organic products consumers residing in Thessaloniki as well as whether these characteristics affect their consumption habits and their markets. As characteristics meant demographics of participants and information regarding their daily lives and how they shop (stores, money, food preference etc). To realize this aim, a questionnaire was created based on other scientific studies with similar themes. Then, questionnaires distributed and the sample collected, which reached the number of 161 people with the majority being women. Then, using the statistical program SPSS used for the analysis of the sample data and recorded the results and conclusions of research. The most important of these was that the sample mainly belong married, with higher education and workers with a monthly income of 500-999 €. The main reasons consumers prefer organic is because they believe that they have more health benefits and because they do not contain pesticides. Regarding habits, found that the consumers buy the products mainly from specialty shops and products that show more preferably olive oil and honey, vegetables and fruits to follow. In addition, during the writing of the work, a literature review conducted based on organic food in Greece and abroad, how organic agriculture has evolved and also what items have been found in other previous research on organic food consumer profile.
