Study and construction of a 5-10Watts valve audio amplifier (Bachelor thesis)

This thesis deals with the design and construction of an acoustic frequency amplifier with vacuum tubes. The implementation of this project is analyzed on the chapters of this document. The thesis starts with the analysis of the function of vacuum tubes as well as the different types of tubes available. Next, we explain the basic principles of operation amplifiers, their characteristics and their classes. Then follows a reference of the basic functions and the principles followed of the input and output of this circuit, the power transformer, the output transformer as well as the basic principles of the loud speaker. The analysis continues with the noises and distortions associated with the various components of our circuit. Then on chapter 5 we analyze further the concept, the design and construction of our project as well as our observations from the results of the oscilloscope and the multimeter as shown, thus the overall evaluation of the performance of the amplifier.
