Υπογονιμότητα - Υποβοηθούμενη αναπαραγωγή : η βιοηθική και η νομική πλευρά του θέματος (Bachelor thesis)

In this thesis the author refers to the contemporary problem of infertility, especially in assisted
reproduction as a means of confrontation, while she deepens in its bioethical and legal
substance.
First of all, a description is being made about the male and female genitalia, followed by the
definition of infertility and the reasons that may cause it. This definition constitutes the spark
for the introduction of the main topic, which is the assisted reproduction
Subsequently, there is an analysis of the definition of assisted reproduction, with a detailed
description of the techniques that consist her. More specifically, the main ones of them are the
intrauterine insemination, in vitro fertilization, intra-fallopian transfer and zygote intrafallopian transfer.
Also, she refers to the complications that may occur, due to the use of the techniques assisted
reproduction, which are the ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, trauma of the cervix,
multiple pregnancies and ectopic and heterotopic pregnancies.
Additionally, a reference is being made to the latest developments in the field of assisted
reproduction and especially to the new techniques, which came to complete the range of her
methods. These developments are consisted by intracytoplasmic sperm injection, the
techniques of sperm extraction in patients with azoospermia- which are percutaneous
epididymal sperm extraction, testicular sperm aspiration, testicular sperm extraction and
microsurgical epididymal sperm aspiration - , pre-implantation genetic diagnosis and in vitro
maturation of oocytes.
Finally, an introduction to the major topic of this thesis is being made, which is bioethics and
the role that she plays in the field of assisted reproduction and the legal framework, which is
established in Greece to protect the humans from this so much useful, yet so dreadful progress
of medical science

| Abstract: | Στην εργασία αυτή η συγγραφέας αναφέρεται στο σύγχρονο αυτό πρόβλημα της
υπογονιμότητας και κυρίως στην υποβοηθούμενη αναπαραγωγή ως μέσο αντιμετώπισης της
και παράλληλα εμβαθύνει στην βιοηθική και νομική υπόσταση της.
Αρχικά γίνεται μια περιγραφή για την ανατομία των ανδρικών και γυναικείων γεννητικών
οργάνων και ακολουθούμενη από τον όρο της υπογονιμότητας και οι αιτίες που μπορεί την
προκαλέσουν. O όρος αυτός αποτελεί το έναυσμα για την εισαγωγή στο κύριο θέμα το οποίο
είναι η υποβοηθούμενη αναπαραγωγή.
Στην συνέχεια αναλύονται ο όρος της υποβοηθούμενης αναπαραγωγής ,με λεπτομερή
περιγραφή των τεχνικών που την αποτελούν. Πιο συγκεκριμένα οι κύριες από αυτές είναι η
ενδομήτρια σπερµατέγχυση, εξωσωματική γονιμοποίηση, η ενδοσαλπιγγική μεταφορά
γαμετών και η ενδοσαλπιγγική μεταφορά.
Επίσης, αναφέρεται στις επιπλοκές που μπορεί να εμφανιστούν, λόγω της χρήσης των
τεχνικών υποβοηθούμενης αναπαραγωγής, οι οποίες είναι το σύνδρομο ωοθηκικής
υπερδιέγερσης, ο τραυματισμός του τραχήλου, οι πολύδυμες κυήσεις και οι έκτοπες και
ετερότοπες κυήσεις.
Επιπροσθέτως, γίνεται μια αναφορά στις νεώτερες εξελίξεις στον τομέα της υποβοηθούμενης
αναπαραγωγής και ιδιαίτερα στις νέες τεχνικές που ήρθαν να συμπληρώσουν το φάσμα των
μεθόδων της. Αυτές οι εξελίξεις αποτελούνται από την ενδοκυττάρια έγχυση
σπερματοζωαρίων, τις τεχνικές λήψης σπέρματος σε ασθενείς με αζωοσπερμία - οι οποίες
είναι η διαδερμική εξαγωγή σπέρματος από την επιδιδυμίδα, αναρρόφηση σπέρματος από
τους όρχεις, η εξαγωγή σπέρματος από τους όρχεις και η μικροχειρουργική αναρρόφηση
σπέρματος από την επιδιδυμίδα-, η προεμφυτευτική γενετική διάγνωση και η ωρίμανση
ωαρίων στο εργαστήριο.
Τέλος ,γίνεται εισαγωγή στο κυριότερο θέμα της εργασίας ,το οποίο είναι η βιοηθική και ο
ρόλος που παίζει στον τομέα της υποβοηθούμενης αναπαραγωγής, αλλά και το νομικό
πλαίσιο που έχει θεσπιστεί στην Ελλάδα για προστατέψει τους ανθρώπους από αυτή την τόσο
πολύ χρήσιμη, μα συνάμα τόσο επίφοβη πρόοδο της ιατρικής επιστήμης.
