The physiological generative woman's cycle is a result of the harmonic function and cooperation of the hypothalamus, pituitary and ovary. The top of this "axis" is the hypothalamus which is influenced by the cortex and other brain regions. During the fertile age, the main goal of the reproductive system of women is the release of gametes (oocytes) from the ovary. All the events that precede or are related to ovarian function essential purpose the release of an oocyte in each reproductive cycle (Ιατράκης 2013) [1]. So precedes increasing the size of the follicles (follicular or the first phase of the cycle), the prevalence of one of them and ovulation followed by luteinisation the ruptured follicle, now called the corpus luteum (luteal or the second phase of the cycle). In achieving pregnancy continued survival of the corpus luteum, and receives the effect of beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (b-chorionic gonadotropin / b-hCG) by the trophoblastic tissue, while lack of pregnancy following regression (Ιατράκης 2009) [2]. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age. It is a complex, heterogeneous disorder of uncertain etiology. In recent years, of course, there is strong evidence that it is largely genetic background and justification (Yen SSC, 1991) [3]. Characterized by central obesity, acne, hirsutism and menstrual cycle disorders related to hyperandrogenism and chronic anovulation. Women with PCOS develop and metabolic disorders such as hyperinsulinemia due to insulin resistance, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia and metabolic syndrome (Yen SSC, 1991) [3]. Treatment and monitoring of women with PCOS depend on the symptoms and the desires of the woman. Permanent cure does not exist, however, the treatment of PCOS include both changes in the daily habits of the patient and medical and surgical approaches (Ponjola C, 1984) [4].
